Adding a Streaming Radio Station to Your Blog or Website (Blogger/WordPress)

Shortlink:

If you have an entertainment blog, you’ll probably find this extremely useful and make people spend more time on your blog than they normally do. Adding a streaming radio station blasting some really good music is enough to keep anyone coming back to that blog of yours. If you blog about celebrities, showbiz and the entertainment industry generally, one of the best ways to keep your visitors entertained is to add a couple of radio stations. Wait a minute, who doesn’t like music? I’ll be explaining how to add a streaming radio station to your blogger or wordpress blog and I’ll suggest you get one or two streaming links if you’re not satisfied with the radio stations on this post.

How To Add This Radio Station to your Blog

Whether you’re on WordPress or Blogger, you need to create a new page. Be sure you switch to HTML editor before proceeding.

For RTMP Streaming Links:

Paste the code below directly on the page and publish!

<!– BEGINS: RADIO STREAMING CODE FOR WORDPRESS BY DON CAPRIO –>
<div style="border: 3px solid #333; width: 402px; height: 122px; margin: 0px auto; padding-top: 2px; padding-left: 2px;"><div style="position: relative;"><object width="400" height="120" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="flashvars" value="src=rtmp%3A%2F%2Fmainstream.coolwazobiainfo.com%2Flive%2Fniginfo-lagos-audio&amp;controlBarAutoHide=false&amp;streamType=live&amp;autoPlay=true" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="0" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://fpdownload.adobe.com/strobe/FlashMediaPlayback.swf" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed width="400" height="120" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://fpdownload.adobe.com/strobe/FlashMediaPlayback.swf" flashvars="src=rtmp%3A%2F%2Fmainstream.coolwazobiainfo.com%2Flive%2Fniginfo-lagos-audio&amp;controlBarAutoHide=false&amp;streamType=live&amp;autoPlay=true" allowFullScreen="0" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" /> </object></div></div>

Be sure to replace rtmp%3A%2F%2Fmainstream.coolwazobiainfo.com%2Flive%2Fniginfo-lagos-audio with your own RTMP stream.

For Shoucast / IceCast HTTP Streams:

<!– BEGINS: AUTO-GENERATED MUSES RADIO PLAYER CODE –>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://hosted.musesradioplayer.com/mrp.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
MRP.insert({
'url':'http://icestream.coolwazobiainfo.com:8000/coolfm-lagos',
'codec':'mp3',
'volume':100,
'autoplay':true,
'buffering':5,
'title':'Cool FM',
'bgcolor':'#FFFFFF',
'skin':'mcclean',
'width':180,
'height':60
});
</script>
<!– ENDS: AUTO-GENERATED MUSES RADIO PLAYER CODE –>

Be sure to change http://icestream.coolwazobiainfo.com:8000/coolfm-lagos to your own radio stream.

I not at all good at this and wondering how I can add a station I always listen to which is http://www.k97.ca/mediaplayer/player.asp Also, I’d like to know how I can change the volume at start, would like to have it start 1/2 at 3/4 volume.

  27. Dolly Townsend says:

    Here is my radio station widget code, if anyone wants to use it. I am having a hard time figuring out how to add the widget to my facebook; it was successful to my blog. I saw that someone was asking where to find one; this is for an Urban Music Station.

    • To use this on Facebook, you may need to create an app for it.

      • Dolly Townsend says:

        Do you know how I would create an app for it? I would love to have a cell phone app to help people to stream. It only streams for those that have flash player from the site. I would appreciate your input Don Caprio. Thank you for a quick response.

  28. Don Caprio says:

    The post has been updated. Your stream URL may not be working for that code up there.

  29. Dolly Townsend says:

    Thanks Don Caprio, I did figure it out pretty quickly. iframe and radio plugin both work great. I really wanted to do either one of two things; either have a stream button to play live feed on the Facebook fan page, or, somehow have it play either within a pinned status post or in the left pane of the page. But I am finding out that Facebook is blocking a lot of things for monetary reasons. Thank you again. Feel free to visit my website: http://www.urbanhotspotradio.com

  30. I love your solution on web radio I will like to know how it works on dreamweaver.
