No matter how often people talk about technologies distancing us, some gadgets and apps actually help with establishing personal relationships. And we are not only talking about Skype or WhatsApp that allow for communicating at long distances. We have picked five relatively new and interesting technologies that can make your personal life better.
The ability to swap bodies with your partner is a useful experience that can bring the relationships to a deeper level. This opportunity is provided by the specialists of the Spanish futuristic laboratory called Be Another Lab. A person who wants to get inside someone else’s body must wear a special VR helmet that will connect him/her to the avatar – a live actor who will pick up and synchronously reproduce all this person’s movements. Everything that the actor sees is transmitted to the screen in front of the “tactile traveler.” Thus, a woman can look at the world through a man’s eyes of and vice versa.
The VR helmets that allow couples to look at themselves from the side are called Oculus Rift. Each participant sees what his partner sees, and during a conversation, he/she hears someone else’s voice as his/her own. A special application called Glance for Google Glass, created for a romantic relationship, offers similar opportunities. Now, engineers are working on futuristic neuro gadgets that will be able to read and transmit data on your partner’s brain activity, so the emotional telepathy is probably just around the corner.
A beauty with intellect
In 2014, a team of employees from a Canadian IT company at Toronto presented J.A.E.S.A. – a new generation artificial intelligence. It’s a virtual assistant, capable of taking one of two forms – male or female. Each form has its own character, voice and unique “views of the world.” The visual interface of the assistant is easily customizable for individual requirements. During communication with the user, this AI constantly learns, memorizes useful details and adapts to the manner of communication. Over time, conversations with J.A.E.S.A. become more profound and personal, as a user and AI get to know each other better.
According to developers, in the future, J.A.E.S.A. will be able to change the timbre of the voice and flirt with the user. The developers promise to put the API of their project into free access so that anyone could create their own artificial intelligence on its basis. The closed beta version became available in October 2014, and the full-fledged J.A.E.S.A. saw the world later in December.
Dating website that uses your DNA
The unique dating website called SingldOut offers a brand new feature – finding the ideal partner using users’ DNA. Those, who registered on SingldOut, receive a special kit for collecting DNA sample at home which they send back to the company. As a result, users’ profiles are completed with genetic information. The system that suggests possible matches to users is based on so-called Instant Chemistry algorithm.
The evaluation of personality is formed on the basis of two sets of genes: the genes of the immune system and the gene responsible for transportation of serotonin, which affects person’s reaction to different situations. Based on the obtained results, SingldOut can predict who is more suitable for developing a serious relationship with the user. In order to get a kit for the DNA test, you will have to pay a membership fee. But isn’t finding your bride worth it?
A partner in your pocket
Today those who look for new experiences don’t even have to visit dating websites anymore. All they need to do is install a mobile app on a smartphone or tablet and have thousands of possible partners literally in their pockets. There are a lot of such apps. One of them, Pure, is a popular instant dating service based on geolocation. A user specifies his\her location and preferences and then chooses the closest match.
The service also offers partial anonymity: there are no profiles, names, or nicknames like on dating websites. The app only contains photos which aren’t even visible to all users; only your match can see your photo. An hour later the app automatically deletes all the messages and photos that you shared with the person you choose. Developers assume that an hour should be enough for users to agree on the place and time of the meeting.
The Nipple project allows users to create a public or private diary with detailed descriptions of all their love affairs. You can indicate the number of partners, their nationality, your impressions, and other details. The published data helps to collect statistics about sexual behavior of people in different countries.
Even though you can keep the record of your sexual life privately, Nipple encourages open profiles in every possible way. For this, for example, a system of ratings and bonus points was created.
